VeryDarkMan Calls Out Ubi Franklin Over Alleged Scam  and Drags Davido Into It

When you’re part of Davido’s 30BG crew, you’re living the dream—or so we thought. But this week, Instagram went ablaze when popular social commentator VeryDarkMan (VDM) called out Ubi Franklin, Chioma’s manager and a member of the 30BG team, accusing him of scamming a victim who trusted him because of his close ties to Davido. Oh, the drama!

VDM didn’t mince words. In a post dripping with frustration, he tagged Davido directly, saying, “@davido I cannot understand how Ubi Franklin, a manager under 30BG, is out here scamming people. I have reported him to you before. Anyways, Ubi Franklin, you have till Tuesday to pay up!” Alongside this fiery callout, VDM dropped voice notes and chats from the alleged victim who claimed he was duped after being lured by Ubi’s association with Davido. After all, if someone’s in the orbit of one of the biggest Afrobeat stars, they must be trustworthy, right? Wrong!!!

But here’s the thing why is Davido always the go-to tag when the proverbial fan gets hit? Is he the Afrobeat ombudsman now? Sure, knowing a superstar might open doors, but it’s not a stamp of ethical approval. If anything, this situation serves as a cautionary tale: just because someone is associated with a public figure doesn’t mean they’re an angel in disguise. Trusting someone purely based on proximity to fame is like assuming the moon is made of cheese because it shines at night.

Luckily, this drama ended with less mess than expected. Turns out, the whole fiasco was due to a lack of proper communication. Ubi Franklin, realizing the flames were getting too hot, apologized to the victim, and the issue was resolved. No more Instagram wars. For now🤣.

Just because someone rolls with 30BG doesn’t mean you should hand over your trust (or your wallet) without thinking twice. As for Davido? He’s probably somewhere enjoying “Awuke’s” success while wondering when he became customer service for other people’s drama.
